One Piece

Image
Oda himself confirmed in an interview with Momoko Sakura that the One Piece isn't something like "the journey itself was the real treasure" and that it is, in fact, a physical reward."Hitotsunagi no Daihihō", translating to "The Great Treasure of One Piece") is a legendary treasure said to be of unimaginable value. It was said to be hidden somewhere deep in the Grand Line, presumably on the last island, Raftel, by the late Pirate King Gol D. Roger. Before Gol D. Roger was executed, he announced to the world that this great treasure, could be claimed by anyone worthy enough to reach it, thereby starting the "Great Age of Pirates." The Mystery of the Great Treasure   No one except the surviving members of the Roger Pirates actually knows where and what the great treasure is. Given the recurring theme that a treasure is merely something of great personal value (e.g. Luffy's hat), One Piece may be nothing more than an item Gol D. Roger...

Treasure

Image
Treasure is normally seen as a collection of gold and silver, or even valuable gem stones such as diamonds, rubies and pearls hidden somewhere waiting to be discovered. However Treasure can refer to anything valuable from an old vase worth millions to a vow between friends or a memory of an experience. Sometimes what one person may consider to be a treasure, others may not. Generally, a treasure is something that a person is not willing to give up without a fight. In One Piece , the idea of treasure has been raised a number of times. While most pirates, like Buggy or Nami, value gold, silver and jewels, there are others who hold other treasures dearer to their heart, leading to many items being stated to be a "treasure". These items often gain their value for personnel reasons, but are also something people in the One Piece world themselves are willing to fight for. Luffy considers his Straw Hat his treasure because he took a promise to return it to Shanks. Zoro...

Tamatebako

Image
The Tamatebako is a box that is said to contain the power to make anyone grow older. It was in the possession of the royal family of Fishman Island and was stored in the treasure room of Ryugu Palace. Vander Decken IX once planned to use the box to make a young Shirahoshi older in order to have her age match his so that he could marry her. However, Decken abandoned the plan when he learned that there was no way for him to enter the palace.  It was first mentioned by the Flying Pirates in Jinbe's flashback. After the defeat of Hody and Decken, the soldiers discover that all the palace treasures and the Tamatebako, a national treasure, had been stolen. It is later revealed that the Tamatebako was also rumored to "make one as strong as a thousand men". Both of these rumors are true, as the box contained the Energy Steroid, which gives the user incredible strength, but if heavily abused, it ages them horribly. The Minister of the Right later told Neptune that he filled t...

Charlotte Galette

Image
Charlotte Galette is the eighteenth daughter of the Charlotte Family and serves as Totto Land's Minister of Butter She is also a member of the Big Mom Pirates. Galette is a woman of average size, with shoulder-length hair that curls at the ends. She wears a short light dress, a dark feather coat, and two horns on the top of her head. Galette cares about her family, as she begged her mother not to kill her brother Moscato, and she was shocked when she saw the defeated body of her brother Cracker. As Minister of Butter, Galette governs over one of the 35 islands in Totto Land. When Big Mom developed a craving for croquembouche and went on a rampage through Sweet City, Galette's brother Moscato tried to calm her, but she was hostile towards him. Galette, Opera, and Mont-d'Or pleaded for her not to attack Moscato, but she pulled away Moscato's lifespan and killed him, shocking the three siblings and the other citizens of Sweet City. Big Mom was later satiated by Jinbe....

Randolph

Image
"Crane Rider" Randolph is a rabbit homie and a member of the Big Mom Pirates, having been given a human soul by Big Mom's Devil Fruit power. Randolph is an average-sized rabbit, though his limbs are unusually long. He wears a frilly shirt, a dark cape, and a cavalier hat. Randolph is very loyal to Big Mom, executing his missions and guarding the Seducing Woods. He has no qualms with killing opponents and intruders. Randolph seems to be cowardly towards his superiors, as he would blame his crane in order to avoid Cracker's wrath. Like other homies, he seems to fear the power of a Vivre Card containing Big Mom's soul. Randolph rides a very fast crane homie, allowing him to take enemies by surprise and quickly attack them. His strength is notable, as he is able to hold his own against an adult mink and massacre several armed people in order to acquire fruit. Randolph wields a double-sided spear, which he can use in close-quarters combat or as a projectile. Rando...

Prometheus

Image
Prometheus is a sun homie that Big Mom summons from her right hand. Prometheus is a large sun, though is of course much smaller than an actual sun. It has several sunrays surrounding it. Its eyes and nose are very close together, and are small compared to its large mouth. It has blushy, rosy cheeks. When it uses its power, its appearance changes, and it resembles a fireball while its facial features remain. Prometheus is very loyal to Big Mom and will come to her when she summons it. It also cares about the safety of the citizens in Totto Land and may even question Big Mom and beg her to cease if it sees her tantrums are causing harm to others, but due to being a homie it can never physically go against Big Mom due to fearing her powerful soul as all homies do.  In conjunction with Zeus, Big Mom can use Prometheus to change the weather and create massive storms. When Urouge invaded Whole Cake Island and defeated Snack, Charlotte Linlin had Zeus and Prometheus create a large th...

Zeus

Image
Zeus is a thundercloud homie that Big Mom summons from her left hand. Zeus is a large cloud who normally appears light-colored, although when it causes a storm it turns dark. It wears a striped baseball cap on his head. Zeus is very loyal to Big Mom and will come to her when she summons it. Zeus seems to care about the safety of the citizens in Totto Land and hates to see them be tormented during Big Mom's rampages, but unlike its fellow homies Zeus knows it is futile to try and reason with Big Mom when she is on one of her rampages. Zeus is able to create large rainstorms with lightning. It is also capable of pouring down sweetened rain. When Urouge invaded Whole Cake Island and defeated Snack, Big Mom had Zeus and Prometheus create a large thunderstorm as Cracker sailed in to defeat Urouge. Zeus danced with Big Mom alongside the other homies as she asked for a status report on the preparations for Vinsmoke Sanji and Charlotte Purin's wedding. During Big Mom's rampage...

Charlotte Cracker

Image
"Thousand Arms" Charlotte Cracker is the tenth son of the Charlotte Family. He serves as Totto Land's Minister of Biscuit, governing Biscuits Island, and is also one of the Three Sweet Commanders of the Big Mom Pirates. Due to his actions, he is a major antagonist of the Totto Land Arc. Cracker is a muscular man of above-average height. He has light and mostly short hair, with a long, baguette-like bun tied at the back of his head and a pair of thin, pointed strands on either side that appear to spark like firecrackers. A very large scar covers his right eye and he has small wrinkles around both eyes. Cracker is shirtless and wears a kilt with decorative biscuits adorning it. He wears tall, dark boots, a dark pauldron on his right shoulder, and a large cape. Cracker usually operates within a suit of biscuit armor, created by his Devil Fruit, and will only show himself if the armor is damaged or destroyed. It is rare enough that Cracker is without the armor that his g...

Neptune

Image
King Neptune is a coelacanth merman and the king of the Ryugu Kingdom on Fishman Island. He is the father of Fukaboshi, Ryuboshi, Manboshi, and Shirahoshi, and the husband of the late Queen Otohime. Neptune is a giant-sized and muscular coelacanth merman. He has a red nose, small eyes, and long thick orange curly hair and beard. Both his chest and arms are covered with hair. He is bare-chested and has matching black tattoos on both arms, which looks like a spiral with wavy protrusion designs around it. As king, he wears a gold crown that resembles a tulip with jewels embedded, a golden bracelet on each wrist, and carries a gold trident with an elaborate design. Neptune seems to be very blunt, as he simply invited the "Straw Hat humans" to the Ryugu Palace, instead of being more cordial. He also tends to shout his words out for no reason, including a habit of shouting his own name at random times, being followed by his whale shouting "Hoe". Neptune sometimes mis...

Poseidon

Image
Poseidon is one of the three Ancient Weapons, alongside with Pluton and Uranus. It is a mermaid who has the power to communicate with Sea Kings. Rather than being an inanimate object like usual weapons, Poseidon was a mermaid belonging to the Ryugu Kingdom's royal bloodline. After she died, her descendants who possessed the same ability to speak with Sea Kings were granted her name as a Title, known colloquially as the "Mermaid Princess". Currently, Shirahoshi has inherited Poseidon's power and her name. Poseidon has the power to communicate with and control Sea Kings, an ability that not even the most powerful merfolk possess. This is considered to be a powerful weapon because of the Sea Kings' destructive potential to sink islands with ease, and to control such a force is regarded as one of the most fearsome abilities in the entire world. While guided by the power of love, it can save thousands of lives, but with evil intentions, it can sink everything into...

Pluton

Image
Pluton is one of the three Ancient Weapons, alongside Poseidon and Uranus. Pluton is a huge warship capable of mass destruction, constructed long ago in the city of Water 7 in the Grand Line. It is said to be capable of destroying whole islands. Pluton was first mentioned by Crocodile when he questioned Nefeltari Cobra of its whereabouts. It is supposed to be a large warship of some kind. Not much else is known about it. Its power was as dangerous as other weapons like Poseidon, who herself had the power to sink all the world's islands into the ocean, although exact details of its capabilities remain unknown. Whoever controlled the weapon had the potential to conquer the world in the process and in the wrong hands would be dangerous. Likewise, Pluton also had the ability to do as much damage to the world. Furthermore, because the blueprints remained in existence even after the ship was built, whoever possessed the blueprints to the vessel would have the potential to build a fl...

Void Century

Image
The Void Century is a century-long gap in recorded and archaeological history, the study of which is forbidden by the World Government. These events occurred 900 to 800 years before the current storyline. It was hinted at during the Skypiea arc; the dates were seen in Robin's flashback. This period became known as the Void Century because there is nothing left to acknowledge anything that happened in it, aside from the poneglyphs which are written in a language that few know how to read. However, it causes a problem with the known histories of the world as nothing ties up because of that missing period. Though many seem to know there is a gap in the historical record, virtually everyone is unaware that filling in this gap is possible. For example, Nefertari Cobra, after being told by Nico Robin about this missing period, was completely shocked that a way to "tie the threads of history together" existed. The fact that filling the gap is possible was proven when "...

Uranus

Image
Uranus is one of the three Ancient Weapons that existed during the Void Century along with Poseidon and Pluton It was first mentioned during Nico Robin's conversation with King Neptune, when she says there are three ancient weapons that bear the names of 'gods'. Like Pluton and Poseidon, Uranus is a dangerous weapon which can be used to rule the world or, in the wrong hands, destroy it. But as of yet, absolutely nothing else is known about it. Uranus was a weapon known to have existed during the Void Century. Its actions during this point in history and what became of it since currently remains unknown. Like Poseidon, it was named after a Greek deity. Uranus (Ουρανός) was the personification of the sky, the father of the twelve Titans, and the grandfather of the first six Olympian gods. "Ouranos" can literally translate to "Sky" or "Heaven" in English.
